On April 23, International Elite Engineering School held its 2025-2026 Spring Semester Undergraduate Course Teacher Symposium to discuss topics including semester teaching arrangements, optimization of assessment methods, and enhancement of teaching quality. The meeting was chaired by Jia Daqing, Director of the CTI Accreditation Training Center of the School, with a total of 11 faculty representatives attending both online and offline. Academic Dean Xing Mingyang attended the meeting and participated in the discussions.

The meeting first introduced the course offerings for the semester and the overall schedule for the examination week. The School coordinated the examination schedule across grades to ensure a reasonable pace and avoid clustering of exams. Meanwhile, the School has organized summer study-and-practice trips to France for students of the classes of 2024 and 2025, for which relevant courses will arrange synchronous examinations.
Regarding the optimization of assessment methods, the symposium encouraged teachers to increase the weight of process-oriented evaluation and to actively explore diversified assessment formats such as project-based learning and group presentations, so as to promote students’ active learning. The meeting also analyzed the teaching situation of several courses from the spring semesters of the past three years, providing references for future improvement.
During the discussion session, attending faculty held in-depth conversations on topics such as classroom teaching effectiveness, student learning status, and the construction of academic support systems, and put forward a number of constructive suggestions. Xing Mingyang stated that the School would further improve the synergistic mechanism for academic atmosphere construction, strengthen targeted support for students facing academic difficulties, optimize the collaboration between class advisors and grade counselors, and continuously enhance the student support system. Professor Xing also proposed to organize a special student work meeting after the on‑site CTI evaluation to systematically study measures for improving academic atmosphere and student development support.
This symposium has provided important references for the School to further improve undergraduate teaching quality and refine teaching management mechanisms. The School will continue to optimize assessment methods, strengthen teaching process management, and steadily enhance the quality of talent cultivation.
